Well just when i thought things were going well, my roomate lost his wallet.. with our last 200 bucks in it. Luckily I had sixty bucks stashed because I owed it to a friend.
Well when i called her to explain why I couldn't pay her back, she rudely told me to come up with the money and that she wanted her money back immediately. And then hung up. Now I am going to have to ask my mom for money, again, just when I told her I was getting back on track. To top it off, I was supposed to go out this weekend for my birthday, and now I can't go. So no birthday party for me. I am having trouble seeing the positivity in this situation. If anyone could point some out, I would sorely like to know.I beileve there is a positive point to every situation, just having trouble finding it in this one. ![]() |

Sometimes it takes longer to find the reasons. Sometimes we never do. Um... does your roommate lose money often? Or does the room mate often not have his/her share? That might be a good thing to realize if so...
I'm sorry you didn't pay the friend back. It wasn't her problem that you spent it (twice?) Yeah, this is never a good feeling situation. It isn't the end of the world (though it might feel like it.) Can't your room mate borrow money from someone? Sounds like you're doing all the good financing. (((rainbowzz))

Thanks for your words sky.
this is the first time I havent paid her back, because if I had paid her back we would have nothing left for food. He doesn't usually lose money, no. He usually handles rent and money and the finances because I am so very bad with money. I am asking roomate tonight to call his mom and see if he can borrow some funds, at least until he gets paid next week and then he is going to try and pay me back most, if not all of the money that was lost. He is taking responsibility for it and seems very upset as well. I guess I have to chalk this one up to an accident and let it go. It just happened at the worst of times. |

Yeah. If things like this didn't happen, there would be no "worst" times.

Hi Rainbowzz,
Wow, I feel for you. There’s always those heart wrenching questions “why me...why now?” I’ve lost money and have had it stolen from me at, what always seemed like, the worst possible time. And I struggle with letting stuff like that go. But like Sky mentioned, “If things like this didn't happen, there would be no "worst" times.” For whatever it’s worth, I believe every situation has its good and bad and that sometimes the positive doesn’t show itself right away. I often come to realize that the lesson may have nothing to do with money or whatever may have happened. But that maybe someone or something is trying to show me a deeper pattern I’ve been missing. Such as, the quality of my boundaries, my ability to stand up for myself, or maybe even a dependant behavior I’m doing. Guess it’s just a matter of letting it go and trusting that the good will surface in time. I wish you well Rainbowzz and hope better days for you. ~ Bee

I hate losing money . . . whether it's lost outright or I forget to pay a bill and rack up a penalty -- all that stuff.
Keep your head and try to remember that there are good days, too. TC

take this has a lesson, file it under "money management" and refer back to it time to time, $60 dollars is not such a big mistake, you can live with the embarrasment, its not life threatening, just try next time to not get yourself into the same position, learn from your mistakes, you made a mistake, you have learned from it, thats the positive, just dont forget it....
