Hi All,
Ok, it's fairly clear that I'm a thread killer...I think that's safe to say.

What I keep reading all over the place is that you all have such great friends here at PC. Well, now, I must say I feel a little left out. Perhaps, I'm not that great at making virtual friends, or perhaps I just don't know how?

I have good friends IRL so I must have some redeeming qualities. Maybe they get lost in the written word? Maybe I should just say "hi" now and again and leave it at that! I don't know...I'm puzzled.

Well, let me tell you a little about myself and you can decide for yourself if I'm "friend-worthy."

I'm trustworthy. I'm hardworking. I care very deeply about people. I like people. I'm a helper by nature. I tend to see the humorous side of things, although not everything is funny. Have to say though, that I think I'm pretty darn funny, even if I have to say it myself!

I'm like a Timex -- been kicked to *****, yet keep on ticking!

So, any input would be helpful. Not looking for pity or begging for compliments. Just curious how ya'll do it!!!

How I made friends is in the chatroom and thru posts. After a while I got to know people who shared similiar interest as I did. But like in real life it takes time to build that relationship.

I know I've felt the same way as you did...then I just kept posting and posting (meaning responding)...sometimes helpful...sometimes not...sometimes I would get a PM thanking me...sometimes not...

Anyway...you don't have to make me laugh all the time to be my PC friend...

I think this whole thing about you being a "thread killer" is completely coincidental.

I've been on PC for about 3 years now. It took me quite awhile to find my nitch of friends. What I found was the more I posted, the more I received in return. I thought at one point a few months back that I wasn't doing anyone any good so I was going to leave. The outpouring of wonderful responses I received back opened my eyes and I realized I had made an impact and made friends.

I would be honored to have you as a friend! Let's have coffee sometime and chew the fat eh?

I'm not sure why you think you are a thread killer. But don't take it to heart. Everyone I've met has been very nice. Some people take time to warm up to others, it has nothing to do with you.

Sometimes on the threads it can seem you are ignored...but just stick with it....be persistant.

In my book...people from the northwest have a special place in my heart.

I guess I have never thought of you as a thread killer. I am sorry you feel that way. Everyone seems to make friends in their own way in their own time. Chat and PM's are a good idea. I have always found your responses supportive and you may be surprised at how people have felt about them. Maybe you want to reach out first and see how it goes. Feel free to PM me anytime. I haven't been around long enough to comment on this, really... but I don't think you're a thread killer. Often, yours is the last word in the Meds forum, but I think that's because you seem very knowledgeable on the subject, so there's no point adding to your excellent posts. You have a lot to contribute and I'm sure you would be a great friend.

Hi Okie Dokie. I think of you as being a good egg and I have no idea why you might consider yourself a thread killer.

I have a slightly different take -- I do not like getting into PMs with people. Once in a while, I PM, and after knowing a couple of people here for a long time -- meaning more than year -- we exchange some emails outside of PC.

I prefer the group threads, where I can get input from at least a few people and a broader point of view. I block a few people for personal reasons, but not very many.

It takes a long time for me to warm up to people, here or face2face.

There is absolutely nothing personal toward you or anyone else in that.
