Having many hairy pets, about 5 years ago, I invented a pet hair carpet brush, which, after all this time, I still use. WV has this "open for business" competition for people to submit their inventions, and I'm going to submit this!
I've looked at the website of previous winners, who receive $20,000 to develop their idea. This thing works! I can visualize it on TV infomercials or for sale in pet shops!
When I first invented the thing, I contacted those online orgs who proport to promote your inventions....They just want your money and are a waste of time. I also paid a lawyer to do a patent search, learning there is nothing like my invention on the market. I also contacted a state agency which is supposed to help entrepeneurs, but all they did was send me emails (leaving me to think they're worthless bureaucrats! collecting their salaries in their state jobs!)....Anyway...I already have all my documentation and am preparing my CD for submittal. I've talked to last year's winner, who invented a "spider easel," and he was very helpful. Wish me luck! I could be the "pet hair carpet brush" queen of WV!~

If it goes to market I will surely want to buy one!

Good luck!

Does it pick up fine cat hair from chairs, kitchen counters, plates, drinking glasses, etc.?

It only works on the carpet...I think it's a little too rough for upholstery, but!!! works like magic and I've used my little prototype for all these years and it's still going like the Energizer Bunny!

This sounds fabulous, Patty. I hope you return soon and tell us that you are indeed the top winner.

I wish you good fortune!

IDK if it can win, usually inventions have to be something no one else has done, I mean to win, that is.

There are a few really good pet hair gatherers on the main shopping channels, I just saw one last week. One of them was an adaptation of the old carpet sweepers we used when we didn't have enough carpet or money to warrant a vacuum.

Another one I've had for 15 years is similar to a driveway rubber broom... it works wonders on pet hair on carpet.

I hope you have the ultimate brush though! Good wishes! My invention: the "pet hair carpet brush"

Thanks, Wants and Sky...
I do know there are other pet hair pickup tools out there, but none like mine. The rubber thingy looks good! I've kept my radar out to see what's on the market, and, of course, paid a whopping amount for a patent search for similar products.
One really does need some kind of financial backing to develop a product or find a manufacturer, so I'm gonna at least submit my idea!
