I have never eaten tapioca pudding due to the little round thingys in it. I remember when I was 10 or so my dad got a fish at a restaurant that still had the eyeballs in it. (I don't think he ate them! ) That is what tapioca looks like to me. Fish eyeballs. lol
I don't care much for fish that looks like the animal either.

Okay - carrots, sprouts & cauliflower all have a kind of (I'm not sure that I'm using this word correctly!!!) mealy (starchy) hard-but-porous. Even potatoes are exactly like that when raw.

... like when we'd be walking in the (at that time, defunct) apple orchard and my gran would pick up an apple, take a bite and declare it, "mealy." More porous, larger pores, than a good apple. Starchy and with little taste.

When I think of potatoes, I think of starchy vegetable. I think of them as starchy, very porous and dry. There's just a little moisture there. I think that's the kind of taste that you're describing but I'm not certain. Carrots don't seem quite so dry, cauliflower not quite so dry as carrots, but denser than carrots and sprouts the wettest and densest.

People eat carrots and cauliflower raw, but usually as crudités with a (moist) dipping sauce. I've not been running in the same social circles as old so I don't know if crudités now include sprouts or potatoes. You'd need something for potatoes! I can't think of a blander raw vegetable!

I've not given so much thought to so many veg that I can't or don't eat in a long time. I'm getting weary. It's been interesting, though!

I hate the texture of raw tomatoes. I love all tomato products, and now I can finally eat a little bit of raw tomato if it is marinated.

Definitely can't stand itchy wool or lace or elastic. I get welts from elastic.

Didn't find food palatable at all as a child and my mother traumatized me over it. I was screamed at and called names, and I ran away from the table crying every night.

Eventually, I got turned on to food. But still, when I am emotionally disturbed (like right now), I can't eat.

Like quite a few of you I'm not great at eating veg, most of the time it is a texture thing but I absolutely hate the taste of cucumber, celery and advocardos to me all three taste very similar; makes me shudder !

Some of the fruits I would love to eat such as strawberries and raspberries I have an allergy to I can't eat or drink anything red, pink or purple and even more inconveniently mediation can come in capsules and tablets that are one or more of these colours and as many times as I remind doctors and or the pharmacist I get home to discover I have a bag of useless mediation and they are not willing to replace it. Absolute palaver !!!
