I'm attaching a picture of how my hair turned out when I took a leap and colored it the other day...too dark! I've really been stressing out about this.

I've washed it twice and it lightened up just a tiny bit. On the box it states that it will last through 28 washings. Everyone says it will fade a bit each time I wash it because it is a temporary color. I'm starting to get used to it and think it makes me look younger...sometimes.
Other times I think I look like a 60 year old who died her hair in desperation. ha!

I thought coloring your hair was supposed to be hard on it but it seems a lot softer right now. Let me know if you think I should keep washing it three times a day or wear a bag over my head. ha!

I have had gray hair for many years, it began during high school! (35 years ago) A few months ago I decided to color it and I went light auburn. It was such a shock!!

But the shock will wear off, I promise!

So, I can't vote yet but I would vote for dark!

I think it turned out very nicely. You may feel it to be a bit of a shock since it is a radical change, but really it looks good on you.

I went back to "coloring" my hair because it gives it so much more control, and you can't buy that good of a conditioner for any money! We have to wait to vote til tomorrow

It will wash out some... next time don't leave it on so long. I only put mine on for 5 minutes... it's still multi colored that way, but manageable!

(PS I like it dark)

You don't look too sure But it does make you look rather young, imo.

Ya know... I wish that coloring my hair would make me look like a different person like it does you. Of course, you didn't have your glasses on in this pic, either.

What does your hubby say about it? Or did he even notice? I still say KEEP IT!

Ozzie, I don't have an opinion. Either way, whatever you prefer. You're the only vote that counts.

I had my hair colored professionally for about 30 years, stopped for about 10 years, recently started coloring it myself but I leave the snow-white part around my face untouched. I am now using an organic product that I buy at The Whole Food Market. It does not make my scalp burn like the other dyes, and it is much softer, so that the various shades of gray and white and remaining brown take on different highlights. It fades a bit quicker, so it blends more naturally into the new growth.

I agree that it takes a while to get used to a color change, so it's good that it doesn't fade too fast!

I took this pic as a self portrait with my camera phone. I couldn't get rid of the glare of the glasses so had to take them off. Wish I could leave them off. ha! I can't do contacts though, tried that once.

Hubby says he likes it but I can't trust him. That's why I asked all of you.

Ya know, if you colored yours a totally different color than it is, you would look different. That's why I do. Maybe I'll do red next time.

Red is fun, Ozzie. I died my hair that color from the early 80s to late 90s. At first my family said,"Wha????"

Then when I let it go natural, it was, "Why did you do that?" I think people forgot that it wasn't naturally red. LOL

Try red, or an auburn.

I love red hair and it compliments me but now that I am in my forties, I find it loses the shine sooner. It doesn't take long to go dull. I lvoe red or auburn though.

You need to be comfortable with whatever you decide.

If you don't want to be gray anymore, stay dark. You will get used to looking at yourself in the mirror.

You do look very friendly and kind either way.
