I can't believe I hadn't heard about this until last night, when I just happened to turn off a video recording to switch to the next one I was going to watch. The news was on, and they said they'd mentioned the original story previously, but I'm glad I got to hear about this story with the events of yesterday.

Our local SPCA held a memorial service for a dog they named "Justice." Justice was a German Shepherd who "was bound with duct tape, gutted alive and dumped along a lonely road." The SPCA placed a beautiful memorial stone on the memory lane section of the shelter's front walkway so that Justice is never forgotten.

I really hate some people. Really. Hate.

That kind of cruelty I just can't handle. Our creatures are so helpless & so trusting.....those kind of people should have someone do to them what them do to our prescious creatures.

I can't tolerate people who are cruel to poor creatures who can't even defend themselves.

That makes me more than angry....glad the SPCA has a memorial like though.

Yeah, they said a lot of children are doing horrible things to animals lately. Worries me for the future.

A couple of weeks ago, there was a news story here in Southern California about a desert tortoise that had been stolen from a yard. The animal had belonged to an autistic boy. The boy would talk to the tortoise, although he would never talk to people. The tortoise was his best friend. When the tortoise was located, he had been cut in several places. Vets set him up with a feeding tube and took care of the cuts. The boy should have his buddy back soon.

A few days ago a suspect was arrested in the case. If he is really the guy, I hope they throw away the key.

That kind of behaviour absolutely disgusts me. How can people be so cruel to these beautiful creatures???
Not so long ago here, there was a story where some people had taken some swans from the local botannical gardens, tied them to the back of their car, and went on a joy ride, the swans were completely mauled. Fortunately they caught the people responsible, it was a couple of teenage boys. When asked why they had done it, their response....we thought it was funny!!!! Someone should do the same to them and then lets see how funny it is!!!! These boys got off with barely a slap on their hand. Its outrageous.
We hear more and more about these acts of cruelty. I think the perpertrators should be strung up for all to see and throw rotten food at.

Really good post.

I just read some comments about Michael Vick on ABC.com, and most are offended by what he did, but one person said they agree it was a bad thing, but he shouldn't go to jail for it. I hate people like that.

I don't care if it's kids or adults...animal abuse should result in severe punishment.
