My earliest memory is green pistachio ice-cream.
One of my most cherished memories is when I took a trip back to San Antonio where I grew up and spent an entire day on the Riverwalk. There's this band that plays there 365 days per year called "fusia andina" and they play native Incan music...INCREDIBLE! It was such an incredible day; life was so beautiful and all was well in the world...Thanks for the question, so often we spend so much time being negative. You're right Jon, we often spend way too much dwelling on the negative. I feel trapped in that mind set, like it's the only state of mind I know how to be in.
I have far too many cherished memories prior to becoming what I am today to name, but my favorite is probably the time I went canoing with a friend who no longer wishes to speak to me. It was nine years ago, and we were at her father's house. We got in the canoe and rode downstream for nearly three hours on the river behind his condo. It was a beautiful day, sunny, warm, birds were singing and the whole day was just perfect. Most of all, I remember feeling happy, laughing the whole time over a picnic lunch we'd brought with us. I was at peace with myself and my life, and at that very moment, I felt blessed to be alive. Remembering those times are partially what keeps me going through the blackness I'm living in today. |

I too enjoy canooing, and have some fond memories of doing so...I think the nice memories are often bittersweet so we try to block them from our minds.
Keep on keepin' on. Jon KICK THE CABLE HABIT!!! http://www.vmcsatellite.com/?aid=84152 |

My daddy holding me in his lap and reading Just So Stories to me. He used to call me his best beloved, pumkin and first born. I really miss him. But I have lots of good memories of snuggling with him and talking about the world.
