Yep - they're called "courgettes" over here. Confused me at first as well, we have a few American recipe books.

its weird how the english language changes so completely from place to place. i learnt a new word the other day thats only used in donegal and derry in Ireland. Thrane. it means stubborn. its amazing we all manage to communicate at all. lol
