Hello Everyone,
I thought I'd share this email I received from the Town Planner. Well here it is: "Hello Jennifer… I intend to meet with our Police Chief at the beginning of the week to discuss the problems connected to youth in the area. We’ll make sure there are increased patrols. You shouldn’t have to endure any kind, verbal or otherwise, assaults on you or your family. You should begin to notice some work being done on the abandoned homes. I know it has been a slow process, but there is light at the end of that tunnel. Building permits have been re-issued and we know that work has begun. The work on the abandoned buildings is supposed to be complete by December, so the activity should begin in earnest as summer progresses. I know that once the buildings are renovated there should be (we hope) restoration of community pride. The new places will look terrific, and we are hopeful it will start a general revitalization in the area. Lonsdale Village is a lovely little community, with no place for unfriendly or abusive neighbors". I feel so proud of myself right now for being proactive. Yeah! Jenn |

I'm glad this is working out. Unfortunately, most of the homeowner's associations here in South FL do NOTHING when properly complaining.
You certainly showed both the way to be agressive, and the way to be assertive, and which way worked better. Good for you! meditation is a true way to connect to the Source

I give up! I just give up on this whole thing! The people who own these ghetto homes are an agency/reality company that couldn't give a crap less. There aren't enough cops to patrol the area (3 for the day today). And to top it all of my landlord blames me for the entire mess. I admitt I lost my temper a bit and should not have used swears and just should have kept it my mouth shut when I was trying to squeeze my car by theirs that faithful day I was assaulted but did not deserve to have a teenage thug hit me in the neck which is where the detected a nodule to boot!!
My landlord had the nerve to tell me that he and his wife have lived here for 5 years and NEVER had a problem with these kids in fact he claims that the girl who hit me babysits his cats and has always been nice to him. LIAR! First off I have never seen this girl come over to their apartment which is directly below ours and I am home every day. Second off I was with my freak landlord the day he yelled at some these same neighborhood thugs and the police came that day too. And third off the Sheriff himself told me that the girl that struck me the one my landlord holds in such high regard has an extensive criminal record and they are waiting just a few months until she turns 18 so she can be charged as an adult. Everyone accept you guys has made me feel like this all was my fault. I accept responsiblity for the fact that I was inappropriate when I swore but these thugs constantly harass the neighborhood and us and I was just to frustrated that day to deal with it. But what this girl did far outweighs my words. But whatever I guess, all I know is my husband and I can't afford to be evicted and if we were because my landlord is a jerk and thinks I am the troublemaker I don't think I could handle it....I think I would have a breakdown which I am on the verge of anyway. You have been handling this very well. I'm sorry about your insensitive landlord. He's probably just trying to smooth things over and avoid conflict/bad publicity/being required to actually do something about the condition of his property. Even so, he's in the wrong.
