You were saying about the stealing those things for the copper...& I just heard about people cutting the power lines in Kentucky to steal the copper off of them.....just to get $200....taking the chance of getting shocked to death for that small amount of $$$$.

That is really sad that people feel they it has come down to that or someone's AC unit. I would imagine that a new A/C is on your list of fix-it's for your house...especially after this horrible heat.

I did notice on my internet page....that the heat in Harrodsburg now is 94 & here in California, it's 101. We still are hotter, except the humidity makes me feel a lot cooler even in the hotter temp.

I have my house AC set at 80 here in California, & I'm comfortable. When I had my AC set at 80 in Ky, I couldn't stand it....felt too hot & was melting.....so humidity does make a huge difference,
Debbie

I've got mine set on High at 68F.,and I'm still hot unless I'm sitting right in the room with it for at least 15-20 minutes. That's how long it takes for it to cool me off, once I've come from another room in my apartment. Like I said, it's a very small window unit, but it came with the apartment, so atleast I didn't have to buy it. So I atleast have something, and it's better than nothing!
If you don't mind me asking Bee, how much would one of those window units end up costing you to replace? I've been to GA before in the summer, and I know how hot it gets usually! The humidity about killed me itself! I swear, I'd drink 1 glass of water, and it felt like I sweated out 6 in just an hour of being outside in Savannah,GA. But I sure loved Tybee Island! It was great! Have you been to Tybee Island?
I was there on vacation from San Diego, and I met a guy that was there from San Diego to. He said that once he found that place, he and his son loved it so much, they decided to move there for good! I think if I could afford it,I probably would to! It's awesome there, and it's beautiful, the beaches! Plus the people are really friendly there to!
I can't believe that people would go to those extremes to get copper, and not even have any compassion for the people that live in the house that need to use that air-conditioner! That's just plain cruelty, and selfishness. I'm so sorry you have to deal with those kindof thieves. I had no idea that copper was that valuable, and that people were stealing it for money! I'm melting! I'm melting! I'm melting!
