I have been hearing how hot it is around that area.....the guys are getting back with me about doing all the work on my house....& I told them to take a break until it cools down.....I don't want them killing themselves on my house....it just isn't worth it.

Outside AC units are pretty large (aren't they?) My central air unit would have to have a huge truck available to steal it. Window units aren't really good against the massive heat like that. My bonus room has one of those hotel units in it...the ones that heat & cool....it's old, but pretty good....it chills the room down so much I had icicles hanging on my nose while I was painting in the room....even with all the heat outside.

I really thought that when I left Kentucky, all that hot draught weather would hook on the tail of my plane & I would bring it back to California with me....just like I took it with me when I went back there in May.

Just sit back & do nothing but drink cold tea...if you can.....lol....as if that is possible???? But don't work too hard in this weather....it really isn't healthy & don't want anything to happen to you. Maybe you should go jump into my pool....it's just sitting there unused right now......that would be a great way to cool off.

Try to keep cool....I can't blow any cool air back to you either....it's hotter than you know where here in the California desert now too.....only thing is that it is dry....& that makes it not feel as hot.

feeling for you,
Debbie

My ac wasn't working too well here in WV today, and I decided to go down into the basement and change the filter. Good thing I did! A whole panel from the duct work had fallen off and that is why I was getting warm air! I put it back in place, but I need to go down there with some good ol' duct tape to seal it better. The old AC unit I have here has chugged away constantly in this heat, and my electric bill will be out of sight, for sure!
I really can't handle the heat, and am happy to hear that the temp will drop down to 67 here tonight!

I have to laugh at your "i'm melting".....thought that was the wicked witch of the east (wizard of oz).....lol.

One thing I am amazed at is the low cost of electric in KY....& I'm supposed to be with the expensive company (Blue Grass Co-op). The same electric use in California runs me $400+/month that I paid just over $200 for in KY.

Sad part is that California is close to the Hoover dam & we also suppliment our electric in our area with wind energy.

Will have to teliport my pool to you for while the weather is so hot since I'm not using it. I was kidding around with the guys who are replacing all my windows....told them they could jump off the scaffolding & into my pool to cool off inbetween windows since the pool is right below the scaffolding in one area.

Hope the weather breaks soon....everyone there is so miserable..I can really understand it now. We really need some rain too.....they had just taken us off the "no burn" period with the last rain, but that can last with this heat.

Guess you will just have to drink a lot of ice cold drinks to keep cool....it helps a bit.
Debbie

What can I say, Bebop... "woulda, coulda, shoulda..." I thought you and Sky were coming to see me before you got anchored down with that property of yours! I'm melting! You both might have stayed here if you'd ever made it... but then again... you two would have probably lit out like a house afire couple nights ago when the ground rocked and rolled!! I'm melting! I'm melting! I'm melting! I'm melting! I'll take that ANYDAY rather than what you two go through with the weather. I'm melting!

We have had a ban on burning all the time I was in Kentucky. We had a few days of rain just a few weeks ago, & right after that, my neighbor started burning some of his building junk right next to all the dry wood he had cut down on both our properties (to make way for the electric line). He shoved all the cut wood onto my property & it was just a fire waiting to happen. You can imagine my horror when I saw the fire not out very well & thinking there was still a ban of fire. From California, even a little spark can destroy thousands of acres. He dumped another bucket of water on it, but I was still so nervous about it, I talked to the fire department.....luckily they had just raised the ban, & were willing to come out & check the fire.....it was all ok to them, but I hope he doesn't pull that while I am away. I sure don't want my woods burnt down before we get more wet weather.

I am not sure I agree with the burning thing anyway.....it puts so much junk into the atmosphere I don't think it's a good idea even if everyone does it there.

Nothing like those huge thunderstorms that hit the area......wish the rain would be softer & longer than just plowing through like they do. But we sure do need rain. In the 2 1/2 months there, my grass went from green to crispy brown.

Tomi, will have to get you back to our country......the beauty is unbelievable,
Debbie

I'd love to see it, Debbie! Can you teletransport me?? I'm melting! 'Cause I don't do "fly"! LOL

Being a Californian myself, I know exactly what you mean about the burning and the dangers. Maybe you can start a movement so they see the error of their ways? I'm melting!

I'm melting!

Yeah, right!! I'm melting! I've been as far east as Illinois. NO THANK YOU!! Those dang bombadeer mosquitos pick you up and carry you off to their lair where they make you a mass of swollen, itching tissue!! That is, after I've been steamed and roasted on all sides in the heat!! I'm melting! Nooooooooo, THANK YOU! LOL

I can't believe someone would be so cruel, and steal that part of your air-conditioner. Especially when it's so damn hot outside, and you need that air-conditioning to work properly! I'm sorry they did that to you, that's aweful! I can only imagine what you're going through, because that's all I have to, is one of those really small window units that only cools off the front room! I have to use my fan to blow the cool air from the front room, into the hallway where my table is set up. That's where my Laptop, and printer and everything is on. It's kindof my office! It's a pretty wide hallway area, it's supposed to be the dining area. But when your single, and living alone, it's not likely that you would set your table for one, and sit down for dinner. I just eat in the living room where the air-conditioner is! But Septembers Picture did sure remind me of home though, except I sure don't look like the lady in the hammock!I'm melting! Take off about 60-80 lbs, and maybe close!I'm melting!
I sure loved the photo though of the beach!I'm melting!
I agree that you should just try to drink as many cold drinks as you can to stay cool, I drink my coffee cold,it's iced coffee! I'm melting!
Good luck with staying cooled off until this heat wave blows over,or until the season changes! I'm melting!
JI'm melting!
