It was 99 degrees F here today. It's supposed to be 95 - 100 degrees F. tomorrow.

I want to remind everyone to drink lots of water. I have read and heard many reporters state that by the time you feel thirsty, you're already dehydrated.

Please stay safe. It might be a good time to check on your neighbors, especially if they are elderly or have young children.

Jan

Thanks for your reminder, January.
Here in South Florida it's in the mid-nineties. But thank God we're still save from the menacing hurricanes.

Come on over, everybody! I'd love the company. Record Heat Wave At noon today it's 72! I haven't looked at the extended forecast, though, so I don't know if it's going to keep up.

Yep, it's still hitting 3 digit heats here in the afternoon, and still staying hot enough at night to where I'm already sweating within an hour! You would'nt believe my utility bill, from running that little tiny air-conditioner! I only run it when necessary because I can't afford the high utility bills! I just have to sweat it out sometimes! And just use my fan!
Yesterday I had to walk to the store in the heat, right in the hottest part of the day, it was probably between 100-105, and it just made me sick! I went to bed early, sweat even more, and couldn't get up until about 10AM,I was so exhausted, and I was in pain from the walk!(my spinal injury)Record Heat Wave Record Heat Wave

I'm sharing nice cool pool that is setting in KY unused at the moment with all you overheated, over humidity people in the eastern US. Wishing I was there to use it also....cause it's really hot here in the Calif desert.

One thing I have definitely realized with my return to Calif. In Ky when I would walk outside, I would be dripping wet with the humidity. Here in Ca, even the hoter temps don't feel as hot with the no humidity we have here. It was such a huge change so immediately that I really understood what made the difference in how hot I actually feel. Here, the dry air makes the heat not feel so hot...& I don't drip immediately when I go outside.

I still would love to have that pool here however....would still enjoy it.

Jump on in,
Debbie

Well, Jan...since I'm near you here in WV, I can say I'm enjoying the thunder and lightning and the final decrease in tempatures, after a 50+ year record high today of 104 degrees! I went out to the store and felt I was in a desert or sauna! I did sense it wasn't as humid as it has been in the past, but still...104!!!
