I'd like to know, because I'm tormented and troubled in my mind all the time.

My best guess is it's trying to make sense of irrational thoughts. But how do you believe a thought is irrational when you're trying to make sense of it? If only we had a way of knowing.

Hi,
Unresolved problems cause most of it. The question is: how to resolve a difficult problem. Sometimes counsellors can help. Perhaps the best way is counselling with self examination/ self discipline and strong resolve?

I agree that therapy would probably help. It would help you sort out the troublesome thoughts.

According to the internet, adolescent self-absorption, immaturity, a desire to look "special", and not knowing what "real life" is.

According to me, fruitless rumination, helplessness, self-loathing, amotivation, and fear.
