Moving... boo.

Not anywhere far...

I live in residence at my university and will be moving to another room as of Saturday. Since I'm stressed out about moving since I only found out TODAY when they want me to move - I may not be online much this week, but will try to be back fulltime as of Saturday night or Sunday.

So if you send me a PM and I don't get back to you in a while, I apologize.

They're making me move since the room I'm in is more needed by someone else. It's also a summer to academic residence thing. Most of the time you're forced to move.

Oddly enough, I'm being moved because I'm not physically disabled enough (only use a manual wheelchair) ... LONG story. Not very happy at this point.

Managed to get one friend as a volunteer though. Maybe he can keep me sane when my family is here to "help".

Wow...that sounds really frustrating. I hope you won't have to move again for awhile!

S'all good. Hopefully they won't have me move until next September. If I'm unlucky - it will be as early as next April. Oh well, few months off.

dont you just love university admin decisions? usually make about as much sense as a frog in a tuxedo. good luck with the move though. i hope it goes smoothly at least.

My friend Cher has to use a wheelchair and she was the first wheelchair person to stay at a local uni's dorm. She didn't let them push her around at all. Maybe you can say you don't want to move and you aren't going to move. It worked for her... I'm sure if you would like that she would discuss the situation with you. She's totally cool and you would like her.

Hey Jan - it's okay. I know they have very good reasons for making me move. There just isn't enough space for everyone with more severe disabilities. It's okay. I'll manage - it'll just take some getting used to.

Got a grand total of EIGHT boxes of books packed today. Wow, I didn't know I owned so many. Clothes are in laundry hampers (cleaned) ... easier to transport that way. Still soooooo much to do.

I have a roommate now. She's much older than me. Kinda annoying, one of those with a "toxic personality" if there is such a word. But I'm used to it now, and she was my first roommate that wasn't my sister. I've been rooomates with her since September 2005. Long time.

Okay, "met" my new roommate online. She seems ... different... from me, but that's okay. She comes from overseas too, kinda neat.
