I have been feeling down recently, and the jokes my friends make, are yes jokes, but they always are a joke to downgrade each other. For example today one of them made a joke that I never understood anything and I was dumb, when I was trying to ask them a question. I don't know if it's just my emotions all over the place, but I'm starting to realize the jokes they make about me, and how I am depressed and all these things that have do with my mental health. I want to talk to them about it, but I feel like they won't understand.

They sound very immature.
Is there anyone in the group you could have a private word with and explain how this affects you? |

Trying to ask an honest question while their "jokes" are flying would likely never turn out well, so you might want to be more discerning about when to do that and who to actually ask. Nevertheless, having laughs at the expense of friends is far from friendly when feelings are hurt, so I would do my best to stay completely out of that and not be a recurring punch line.

When I'm depressed I can't take jokes at all. But what your friend said to you sounds like a pretty mean joke and not that funny. Maybe you could avoid her or him when you're feeling fragile.
