(((skittles))) That's a good idea! I googled Ohio Food Closets and came up with several links...depending upon what part of Ohio you're in. Also you know a lot of churches give out food (and you don't have to be a believer or a member.) PLUS the salvation army probably can help...give them a call to find out how to receive food. Some places call it a food pantry, but the cause is the same. Good wishes.

Our City has a food center for people that are in need.....here is Lancaster Ca,....it is called Grace Resources. The churches in the neighborhoods all know of the food shelters, so you might check with them. The churches take food donations & give them to the resource centers for people. This was also the case in the area where my MOther lived.

The church offices usually know where the resouce centers are....just a matter of asking....unless you can find something in the phone book.

Hope everything works out ok for you....it is a tough place to be in for sure,
Debbie

((((((((( Skittles )))))))))))

I'm so sorry that this has happened. Sky gave you all the ideas I had. When I first got my apartment, the Salvation Army gave me some food to get by until I had some money.

You two can also call the Human Health and Resources Department to see if you're eligible for food stamps. Also, have your bf see if he is eligible for unemployment benefits.

Hugs,

Jan

If you're in Central Ohio, call FirstLink at (614) 221-6766; they can hook you up with all the food pantries in the Columbus area. Some of the pantries require you make an appointment through FirstLink if you need more than one day's groceries. Usually you can get a three-day supply of basic staples for 9 meals, plus some household items.

If you live outside that area, you may want to call them anyway and see if FirstLink has a branch or sister organization where you are. Otherwise, call the United Way office nearest you.

Good luck; I hope your bf is able to find work quickly.
