Getting on the internet has helped me a lot. I am disabled due to my bipolar illness. Many times I have no one to talk to and I can find some people to talk to or read a variety of different subjects. It has helped me tremedously. I just wanted to say something. Take Care. Internet hobby helps me

Hi Ginny, I'm disabled too. I agree with you that is really does help to be able to talk with others who understand and empathize with how you feel on the internet. Its a different environment and seems so much less judgemental than the real world.

Take gentle care,
Dee

I think I would absolutely freak out if I didn't have the internet. Its like having people who live in the box on my desk that I can access whenever I want. There's always someone to talk to, something to watch, something to read, something to play. I absolutely am with you....without internet I'd go absolutely nuts!

And people seem to think it's not "in real life"! I don't buy that one bit! Our life on the internet impacts our lives one way or the other no matter how you look at it. It IS IRL... it's just not in 3D.

Speaking for myself, I've had some wonderful experiences on the internet and I've met some wonderful people who will be with me the rest of my life as friends. There's also been some not so good experiences but I've learned from them just like I would have, had I known these people personally.

The internet is like anything else; EVERYTHING in moderation! Internet hobby helps me

Thanks SeptMorn, it helps knowing there's people out there that feel the same way I do. Yeah, me too. I have met some mean people but like everything else I have learned to move on. But, all and all I need it (the internet) it is a lifeline for me. Again, of course in moderation, so things take precendent, like bathing, brushing teeth, cook, having interaction w/ people face to face. I do, in moderation. It is nice to come in here and escape into my own world at times.

Thanks for replying Dee. I am new, just started using forum. I found out I like it. I like communicating this way. I have been chatting some and found people to be supportive in there, even talked to Doc John. However, sometimes I have come across an unpleasant person, which is rare. But, I just live and learn as the old sayin goes. Take Care, Gin Internet hobby helps me

p.s. I am learning more about this site all the time.

I'm still learning everything on the site haha! Every so often I'll stumble on a feature I never knew was there. This place is my home away from home, thats for sure! Though I'm really only on it at home lol!
