Hello there!
I'm starting therapy next week and I feel very anxious... I'm afraid I won't know where to start ... This is silly, but I am a little aprehensive.

Let the therapist help you start... that's their job!

After all, they've done this before... you haven't starting therapy.

It is important to be able to talk freely about what is bothering you and that requires trust. Sometimes things can "click" right away and sometimes it takes a few sessions or more to establish that trust. The therapist should help with that. If you don't feel that you are becoming comfortable with the therapist, look for another. It isn't necessarily a sign that the therapist is bad or good... we just need to find someone with the right "chemistry" sometimes.

Good luck!

I have done therapy before, and it wasn't fun. It was a dissappointment, at the same time that my husband was making me feel ugly and boring, my therapist fell asleep during our session!!!!
Can you believe that? She shouldn't do therapy when she's tired.

Any way, I know not to generalize and I am ready for another shot at this ... I know it is going to be good, specially because, if the therapist fall asleep I'll punch him! ha ha ha

I know, it's scary starting out. Been there enough times. As Dexter says, let the therapist help you with getting started, but also don't be afraid to ask questions and let him know what your issues are and what you need to get out of therapy. After a while it will get easier.
