Everytime I look at who's in the chat rooms, there are always a bunch of people whom I've never seen posting on the boards. Do members use different names in chat to conceal their identity for privacy purposes or are there that many people who don't post on the boards and just go to chat?

I think your second guess is more likely...as it would be a "rule breaker" if it was the first...

I believe it is the latter as well. There many who chat but don't post.

Okay, thanks. I hardly ever see any of the posters in there. Just once in a great while and when Doc John is in there. I hardly ever go in there.

I'm one of those that's in chat quite a bit, but I don't post much. I find it easier to chat in real time tbh.

Most the times I don't recognize any of the names in there. Must be a lot of people who don't like to post but like to chat in real time. I've never done that.

I used to chat a ton too. I hardly ever recognize names either. I've gone in a few times but wasn't able to fall into conversation. I think the chat tends to ebb and flow.

Chat does ebb and flow. When I first came here, I was so overwhelmed that all I did for a while was chat. It took me a little while to start posting. I think a lot of newer members are like that.

I'm with you Pickle. I always check to see who's in there and don't recognize a soul usually.

Tonight it's so busy it looks like DocJohn IS in there!

Yup! Out of the 17 that are on there right now, I've only chatted with one of them... and then, it wasn't the best. Do members chat under a different name? Maybe that's why I don't go in there anymore.

Judging by the population, yes. But not in reality. Maybe one of us should start a room for 40+. What do you think?

I feel bad that you guys don't feel you can just come in and chat with us. Of the people I've got to know in there, I don't know many that wouldn't try and involved everyone. We're not bothered by how old you are either!

I know I hardly ever go in chat. Not that I wouldn't like to meet new people but I guess I just have become attached to all of you. Do members chat under a different name? Normally I don't recognize any names.

I would fit in any room over forty and then some. Do members chat under a different name?
