So I have two job offers on the table and I need help making a decision. Okay so here is the scenario:

Job 1 is a temp. job 3-6 months in length pays 11.00/hr. 8-4pm M-F. Not in my field though...data entry/filing

Job 2 is a grant position which means it is definitely full time throughout summer but no guarantee will stay full time pass end of August most likely will become part time in Sept. Pays 13/hr it is a project supervisor position assisting teenagers to develop a grant funded business that they will profit from. So it is human services which is in my field.

What do you guys think? I am soooooo indecisive right now. Although I am leaning towards one. HELP!

Jenn

I'd say job 2 is best, since you'd prefer it more and it's higher paid. Maybe you could get an evening job to supplement it too?

I'd say job 2 also!
It is not only in your field but it is an opportunity to show them what you can do!!! You'll be surprised how many people start with positions like that one and end up becoming an asset so the company doesn't let them go ..

good luck

If we're taking a vote, job 2 gets mine also. You never know, but it sounds like it is more likely than the other to lead to future opportunities in the direction you want to go.

Yeah, I'd take job 2 as well. It's in your field, pays better, and while it's not quite as stable as the first job, it's similar (first job was also possible for only 3 months on the low end, so they're fairly equivalent there). I also think the grant-funded position will likely look better on your resume for similar kinds of positions in the future.

Good luck!

Jenn,

I'm a day late and a dollar short here, but the second job sounds like the one for you. I'm glad that's what you chose. It sounds like it has more potential, a chance to work in your field, and will present you with a real challenge, which is good for the soul...or so I've been told.

And you're going to be awesome at it too! Be sure to keep us updated on how it goes, OK?

Greg
