Hi I kind of do this thing where I involuntarily sway or rock myself ALL THE TIME. I could be having a normal conversation and I do it (only sitting). Idk what it is. Could it be anxiety? Stress? Like I said, it happens randomly throughout the day and I dont think that I think about anything in particular while doing it.
I've looked it up and saw things like autism but i'm 100% sure I don't have that and i'm not rly diagnosed with anything at all. |

What is it that makes you 100% sure that you do not have autism? Rocking back and forth, restless leg syndrome, fidgeting, etc., are all symptoms of anxiety, which is often attributed to autism. I'm not saying you are autistic, but you should look into the underlying reasons for your anxiety.

I also do the same thing! Sometimes I do rock back and forth at random for anxiety are sway when I'm bored. It is pretty weird all things considered, and it is defiantly an anxiety thing for me.

If your self conscious about rocking in public, get a Fidget Spinner. Those things are awesome for stress, concentration and mindfulness.

I agree with the others. It could be anxiety or stress. Do you see yourself as having anxiety? It does sound like self-soothing. I don't think it's weird at all and not a problem unless you are self conscious about it. Best wishes.

Thank you! I do think my low self esteem gives me anxiety often. And maybe stress from living with my grandma (I love her, but she can be aggravating a lot...). I might be a little self conscious about it because some people have pointed it out before.. I'll try the fidget spinner to see if that helps probably
