im so sorry to hear your terrible news. i am sending good thoughts that your daughter can be helped. this must be so difficult for both of you.

There are wonderful things they are doing for vision loss and I hope something they have will help.
I know this is feels like such a tragedy at this time though.

Stay strong. There are worse things and she needs to know that you have faith in her, no matter what.

We just got back from Abby's appointment with the vision specialist. Her vision won't get any worse, but there's nothing they can do to make it any better. I have mixed feelings.. I'm happy and sad at the same time. I just wanted to keep you all updated. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

((((mp)))) i'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's loss of vision. i was born deaf. i was also born blind in my left eye. i hope to god i don't lose sight in my right eye for any reason whatsoever because i depend on it 100 percent. need it to lip-read, ya know. anyway, you and your daughter are in my thoughts.

I hear you on the mixed feelings. I'm glad she won't lose her sight completely, but sad it won't improve.

mentalpollution, mixed feelings sounds like a very understandable reaction. its good her vision wont get any worse. i hope they can at least find ways to help her function to her best with the vision she does have.
