So, when I was in 6th grade, I had this weird thing where I thought the boys could read my mind. I had to carefully pick what I thought just in case I thought something weird, rude, odd, etc. I legitimately believed the boys in my class could read my mind. Well, I haven't believed that for a few years since 6th grade, but I just started having that thought again. I know it's irrational and impossible but I still feel it's true.

Does anybody else have this??

No I've never had this. I was just wondering if you have problems with anxiety. Since it's happened only twice several years apart I wouldn't be worried about a chronic illness unless it continues. If it does please get it checked out. Best wishes.

How often does this happen? If it happens frequently, I'd go to a doctor..

Some people feel the same way and some even believe what they are thinking is true.
Odd thoughts are normal, especially if you have an offbeat personality.

I would not worry about it too much.

But if you start having trouble sleeping, depressed mood, or agitation I'd recommend you speak to someone you trust.

Wish you all the best.

I have had this feeling however, it's all people. It had goo ten bad enough that I had a hard time giving eye contact because I thought this is how everyone could read my thoughts. I began secluding myself because being around others was so stressful. I have sense then been to see a Pdoc who has helped me so much through medication management and explaining information about my diagnosis. I am now able to identify what is real and my rapid thoughts.

Like others have stated on this thread, if your thoughts continue or it begins to change your everyday living, find a doctor! I feel much better now and wish I would of gotten help much sooner. Thinking of you and wishing ya the best!

You wouldn't believe how many women think their partner can (and should) read their mind. So they dont speak yet expect the guy to figure out what's going on if they just think about it hard enough. So it leads to those stupid arguments such as "what's wrong? Nothing. Really? Yep. Ok. Ok? What? It's not ok! But-- If you really liked me you woukd know and I wouldn't have to tell you!" Etc, etc....
With some couples i know it has become an everyday thing.

Truth is, no one can tell what you think. Some experienced people can read your body language and tone to figure out if you are honest, upset, sarcastic....but it always has to do with your expressions no one can actually know your thoughts before you speak!

To see that with your own eyes film yourself while telling a few sentences. Do it again but thinking about the exact opposite as you read, perhaps a few other times thinking of unrelated stuff. A week or so later, watch your videos again but not in the same order and try to guess what you were thinking about at the time of each recording. Pretty much impossible right ? Well this is all that the others see of you when you speak. Of course you can read your own mind as you speak, but in the eyes of someone else's there is no way to tell.
