....of resource places that refuse to help someone in need if that person has family in the area?
On one hand I can see why. However, what if that family is toxic-and may be part of the reason you're in need? Or like, your family has helped, but now they hate you for it. ![]()

That doesn't make sense to me.. just because you have family, it doesn't mean that family is necessarely supportive.

That's nuts. Just because you have sisters doesn't mean you can stay with them. I'm running into the same thing with social assistance up here. They don't want to qualify me because my brother has been helping me financially - that can't continue indefinitely.
