I think he took a bit of a battering lmao, he loved it and really got into the game, he ended up giving as good as he got bless him. I hear the Miami Dolphins are coming to Wembley soon, and the New York erm....sorry can't remember....(sorry) don't know anything about the sport except it's a bit like rugby (jin makes a mad dash for the door from all the eggs being thrown) American football..... Lol I won't throw eggs. Souds like your son had a great time! Quarterbacks do tend to get pretty beat up during the game haha.

Glad your son got a chance to play "real" football. American football.....

If you are a betting person - take the Giants. Unless the dolphins by some miracle of miracles finds that magic rabbit in the hat, the Giants are almost sure to win.

My daughter plays Gaelic football and now is into comogee(?), female hurling I believe.

She was a soccer (yes, real FOOTball) goalie in college and really loves the Gaelic football now. But there is NO protection for the goalie in GAA so mom is a bit worried.... Oh well, that's what mom's do..

I like the American football season, and i usually pick a few teams as favorites, though this year I've only paid attention to college games. I was in awe of the Univ. of KY vs. Univ. of Louisville game, in which KY won. I couldn't sit down during the last minute of play...so exciting!
I like to watch Rugby also, but I don't understand it! Those guys look a lot tougher than the American football players. I watched segments of the world playoffs and was amazed.
When my daughter was a student at Univ. of KY, she said the Rugby players were "insane!"

don't know much about it though. I watched some American soccer today, kansas City against LA Galaxy. Galaxy won.

same as English footy apart from the insane commentators lol.

I played for the Columbus comets--A professional womans football team. It was awesome--I was a defensive end. And yes, we wore pads and tackled and everything.

I also played rugby for the sciota rugby team--go flying squirrels!

As for the debate about rugby versus football...I would have to say American football hurt a lot more. Its a different type of hitting. I loved playing both but hung up my cleats when I turned 34...my poor old body could no longer take the abuse--its been 2 years and I still feel the pain of the broken bones, pulled muscles and numerous concussions.

Of course if you want a real sport, there is always kick boxing...that makes football feel like ball room dancing.

'real football' is rugby to me too :-)

but i'm in aussie now and i think it is fair to say there are more league supporters than union supporters.

i've been to a few live games of aussie rules and that is... interesting... seriously, though, the guys have a nicer build ;-)

but... don't even talk to me about the world cup

Hi Perna, thanks for taking the time to check out the comets. Playing pro ball was a high light of my life. It was tough, but I am glad I got the opportunity to do something that is so male dominated. Women really can do anything--if they are given the chance.
