Why can't tomorrow be monday. The vet would be open. Jasmine could get fluids, at least that. It hurts so much sitting here holding her. She looks at me for help. I want to make her feel better. But, i dont know anything else i can do, except hold her and tell her im here and i love her.

She is blind now from diabetes. But i swear, she keeps looking past me. She sees something there. The last time i saw that happen was when i held my grandfathers hand and told him to go ahead and go. That we wll be alright. But, im not ready to tell Jasmine that.

Sorry if i upset anyone. I just had to get this out.

I'm sorry our jasmin is ill. I know the anxiety and sadness of that. I once had 3 cats, all the same age. Not easy. One of them needed fluids twice a day.

Is there an emergency vet you can take Jasmine to, or can you leave a message with your vet's answering service for a call back?

My prayers are with you.

Thank you Echoes and Tsha. Thank you

About 2 this morining she started to seizure. The vet hospital in Metaire wouldnt answer their phone. So i took the chance and rushed up there. It was the longest 40 minutes of my life. They were there, there phone is down. They hooked her to an iv immediately. Her sugar level was down to 25. They wouldnt let me stay with her, but i got to go back and see her before i left. I just cried and held her tight. I kept telling her i sorry. I almost killed her. I didnt know it. I almost killed her. She was in hypo glycemic shock. I feel awful. Im so stupid.

The doctor there said the next 8-10 hours will be crucial as they try to get her back up. She is staying there through monday. And hopefully monday morning i can get her. Im going to see if they will let me come see her tomrrow.

Ya'll please keep her in your prayers. And thank you so much for your support and love.

You are a wonderful mom to Jasmine. If you hadn't been paying attention, Jasmine would not have gotten to the hospital and she might not be with us right now. Do not blame yourself. You are the reason she is getting the medical care she needs.

I told the boys she isn't feeling well right now, and I actually think they understood. We will keep her in our thoughts.

(((hugs))) I know the feeling, but it isn't so: you didn't almost kill her. You didn't give her what she is suffering with. You did the best you could and that was alot, imo. I hope she comes through okay. Why can't

Chalm, I am so sorry. I know how difficult it is to deal with sick pets. More than just pets--friends and family members. It sounds like you are managing the situation...I will keep you in my thoughts.

Thank you all so much. I just got back from seeing her at the vet hospital. She doesnt look right to me. Her right paw is broken and in a splint. They said it probably happened when she was having the seizures. I know shes blind, but she always knows me. It didnt seem like she knew me. I brought her toy dino so she'd feel a little bit of home. The vet said her sugar level is above now, but coming back down to the level its suppose to be. I'm going to pick her up so far tomorrow morning at 7, then taking her straight to her vet. I asked the vet if she was in pain, he said he doesnt think so.

I remembered a little while ago that i forgot to take my meds yesterday and today. I just took them, but am feeling so down. I just cant get her and a friend off of my mind.

(((((((Thank you all))))))))for your prayers and thoughts. I will let you know what happens tomorrow.

I'm sorry that your kitty is sick - but you did the best you could getting her to the hospital right away. I'm sure she knows how much you love her.

So many thanks to all you.

An update on Jasmine. I picked her up from the hosptial about 7am this morning. We went straight to her vet and were there till about 1230this afternoon. They gave her more fluids through the iv, ran some tests and wanted to watch her for awhile. We got home a little after 1230 and she went straight to her bowl. She's eaten almost a whole can of food. Still not drinking, but they said with the fluids they gave her its alright for tonite. After she ate i gave her the insulin shot and her antiobiotics like the vet ordered. Then we both crashed out till a few minutes ago. She ate a little bit more and is sitting in her window right now laying down. The vet called a few minutes ago to see how she is. And sometime tomorrow i need to bring her back in if she still hasnt started drinking water. She will need some more iv fluid. They left the iv thing in her leg, so they wouldnt have to give her another one. And they will run the blood test on her sugar level again tomorrow.

I need to talk to the vet tomorrow about the infection in her larynx, which on friday started all of this. He said she will have to go to a specialist to have that taken care of. Somehow, someway we will get that done. Her vet said after the infection is taken care of she will be back to her old self.

Thank you everyone, she's not out of the woods yet. but it seems like we are getting there.
