I'd like to express my sympathy for Jasmine and create a place where others can send wishes too. You're in my thoughts, and I am here if you need someone to talk to or anything at all.

Thank you all.

Since saturday night when she went into diabetic shock, she was only getting worse. She wouldnt eat or drink and just wanted me to hold her all teh time. I knew she was feeling bad, just listening to her breath. It sounded to me like her lungs. Like she was full of congestion. She could barely purr and hasnt meowed since last wednesday. It sounded much more than a throat infection like her vet said.

Her vet just wasnt doing anything to try and help her, so i found another vet. Thats where we ended up yesterday. He ran tests, little as possible. I didnt want her stuck any more than necessary. She turned out to be suffering with a bad pnuemonia and her diabetes was at a point of no longer being able to be controlled. The vet offered to do a 5-10 day intensive care on her. But even after that, if she would make it through, she would be in bad condition.

I couldnt be selfish and put her through that. I couldnt stand seeing her suffering anymore. I pretty much knew on that saturday night she wouldnt be with me much longer. I had to let her go. We had some time alone at the doctors office and it was the hardest thing i've ever done in my life to hand her to the doc. But i did, I did it for her. And i know now shes at peace.

Thank ya'll for being here with me through this. She's been my baby for 16 years.

im so sorry you lost your kitty chalmette. i lost my dog in July. i had had her for 13 years. it is such a painful thing to let another being leave us for a more peaceful place. especially when we are the ones to let them go. i really do empathise. i believe your kitty is in a more peaceful place now though. i just hope we can all reach a place like that when we go.
take care

((((chalmette)))) i understand what that was like. when my 2 previous cats were dying from complications of a vet mistake, i had to release them, as well - 9 days apart from each other. that way, they wouldn't have a hard time in the dying process. it was peaceful.

Biiv, Wings, and Fuzzy, thank ya'll. It means so much to me.

Monday i should be getting her ashes. And as soon as the earth around the house is replaced, I will be burying her ashes in the yard.

Hugs to all of you

we buried our dog in the back garden under a young oak tree. as it grows it will grow round her. i want to plant some daffodils there too. i think keeping her ashes close is a good idea chalmette.
