I recently learned about MADD and it fits what is wrong with me perfectly. Does anyone else relate to Maladaptive daydreaming?

I used to. It has usually been in times during my life when not much is going on, I'm bored, life is not where I want it to be. Once I began filling my life with more meaningful activities, the urges to daydream went away. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I daydream so much ive blacked out and lost track of where I am. I even have terrible insomnia because I can't turn off the dream world. Its embarressing because I tend to make noises or facial expressions while I'm in my worlds. I pace too.

Pacing is the worst part, i think. Your mind just wont seem to shut down. I used to pace 24/7 when i was first on a psych ward. I did notice alot of people pacing too. Daydreaming just comes natural to me, i don't know how to come out of them sometimes, i get caught up in them throughout the day too. I think it is a way of coping that is bad for me. I did have many head injuries and think that is why I daydream. Also, during and after sleep apnea tests, i was told I have no REM sleep. Maybe that is why I dream in the day when i'm awake?

I bet I have no rem sleep too. Plus with pacing a lot I had gotten pain in my feet that wouldn't go away. Fortunately now my antipsychotic lessens some of it. I also quit going in my basement and listening to music alone. That's when I'd really get sent off into my daydreams and pace.
