So I was put on the birth control Yaz for painful periods, and I was reading reviews that people went through horrible mood swings when they were on it. The thing is, I get really bad anger mood swings and anything can set me off, but I got them way before taking this birth control. I've always been emotional and such.
So how do I know if it's a side effect or just me?

Well if the angry mood swings happened before the Yaz then I would guess that it’s you. Are you doing anything to adress the mood swings? Therapy etc?

No, I try to deal with them on my own which is probably bad. I have the problem of not accepting help from anyone so...

Have they gotten worse since you started taking the birth control?

That's what I'm not sure about? I don't think so? It still feel the same to me.

Sounds like it's not the birth control if you've always been this way. I think it's worth talking to a therapist and/or psychiatrist about.
Thanks for this!

Thanks. But I'm not the type of person to really get help that why. That and I won't accept help(which is a problem I know).

So what's the issue? You can try another birth control med and see if it agrees with you better, or you can quit Yaz and see if things get better.

And then if you're still moody and refuse to get help for it, you're f*cked.

You claim to refuse help, but you're taking about it here if you don’t want to get help it’s kind of a moot point if the birth control is making things worse. Adding a baby to this mix would be WAY worse.

Maybe you could work on wanting to want to get help. Do you not want help because this an emotional issue? Give that some thought. If you gouged a big hole in your leg and were bleeding would you not go to the emergency room because you won’t accept help?
