I think in the extremes. I decide before hand something is going to fail or it won't. As I think catastrophically I tend to think the former. So, my therapist this morning asked me to ditch these 'decided' thoughts for "wonder" thoughts. So instead of thinking I am going to fail if I get this new job I could be thinking "I wonder what will happen when I get this new job." Honestly, doing so has never occurred to me. I am such a dope. Let us see how this goes.

It's difficult to change your thoughts, but so powerful. I am currently working on acceptance. Accept the past. Accept that I cant predict the future. Accept my thoughts and feelings as they come. Live in the moment. It's hard.
Good luck with the new thought patterns and the job! |

The more you do it the easier it will become because you are CHANGING your neural pathways as you do this. It was probably a thinking way you learned from childhood which awesome the way the brain works can change.
I have learned to be a wait & see kind if person when I don't have enough information to work with. That was hard for me because I always wanted to FIX everything NOW.

You are right, deciding ahead of time on the end result of something has been ingrained since childhood and my time as a young adult. Now that it has been brought to me attention I realise I do it all the time. I have been forcing myself to stop and reword myself to wonder not decide. And I've been doing this out loud to for extra emphasis.
