How do you deal with it when **** keeps flying around and landing on you?

ETA

I am not talking about the current ''situation'' and I request no replies about that.

No replies are needed, I just was feeling sad and grrrrrrrr.

respect to all

Gradual erosion.

That is, in the years after my first persistent depression symptoms, when depression wasn't diagnosed, I drew on my own personal reserves of resilience, conscious attempts to improve my sleep hygiene, and diet and exercise to keep myself going.

It became harder and harder to do less and less.

Eventually depression, etc. eroded me such that I withdrew / was withdrawn / was kicked out of "normal" life.

Some **** still falls on me, but less than before.

Hi (((Fuzzybear)))

For me, I try to process it in such a way so that it sits okay in my mind. By that I mean, I just try to realize that no one's perfect, and I'm not perfect. Speaking for myself, I've done and said a few hurtful things to people over the years - I'm not proud of it. But it says to me, yes, I can feel hurt if it happens to me, but just remember; that person is you, as well. That person isn't really doing anything that I myself may have done also.

Thinking of it that way helps me. It evens it all up, but it's a process and a constant letting go as well, until I don't care about it anymore. It's left in the past.

So, that's how I deal with it now, Fuzzy. It may not apply to you though, because you probably weren't a scallywag like I was when I was younger.

"This too shall pass." is scrawled across the inside of my forehead. I like saying that to myself . . . often.

Lately, I have another policy: When I'm dealing with one bit of **** that has come my way, and then another bit of **** shows up, trying to land on me, I say, "Take a number and wait your turn. I'm busy."

Let you in on a secret ((Fuzzy)), there are no "normals", no one is perfect, we all got something about us that's not perfect.

(*(*(*(*Fuzzy*)*)*)*)

Fuzzy, during those times of my life when the poop kept raining down on me it helped to remember it would end eventually. I'm sorry about what's going on for you right now.

I tend to think that it could always be worse. Then nothing looks too bad to me in comparison how it could be. Sending you hugs.

I've been feeling that way too, and it seems like I always end up with the short end of the stick. I finally realized I was getting too angry at everyone and everything and I was only hurting myself in the process. I also realized that I've allowed myself to be too dependent on other people and that's really the biggest issue for me. So this year I'm working on being fully independent.

Identifying root causes is wise and potentially rewarding. I wish you and all who find themselves in similar circumstances every success.

My T calls what works "having a teflon mind" **** can't stick to teflon. I never had a name for what I was doing growing up, but even then I always had a garbage pail close by & let the **** that anyone (including my parents) tried to dump on me.....go right into the garbage pail. It was so cool when my T actually put a description to what I had been doing all along......

Lol....most of the time I provided a good strong bite (just like you said) while I was letting it slide into the garbage
