The unfortunate part is that he is a famous, wealthy celebrity. He has enablers around him who won't enforce the proper boundaries because it could end their career. His wife is too deluded and too self-obsessed to take any real action against him either, b/c it would be bad for her public image.

I agree with bpcyclist that he is a danger to himself and others, especially to his young children. Add to his public rants and tweets, his new album is coming out so part of this could all be one huge publicity stunt too, to keep the Kardashian name relevant and keep Kanye West on top of the music charts.

I still think his music sucks. And I still have no respect or sympathy for him or his family b/c of the way he shrugs off any responsibility for his mental health. He is a terrible father figure and a terrible role model to his fans who have mental illness like bipolar disorder. He is a smug, arrogant, delusional celebrity whose bottom line is how much money he can make off his multiple ventures.

There are other famous people who have bipolar disorder who are far better at handling their mental illness and are great role models. One of my favorite actresses has bipolar disorder - Catherine Zeta Jones. She is a great actress and has suffered with bipolar disorder for years. Yet, she takes medication for it, and isn't in the public eye causing chaos and recording crazy rants like Kanye West does for attention. She is very low key and when asked about her BP, she is very down to earth and honest about it.

That’s fair, but I’m just saying there must be some reason they have not forced him into any type of treatment as this is not the first time he’s done this. So yes while it is a potential danger, is it enough to strip him of his rights? Like saying you’re being stalked.. yes there’s immediate danger but if the person isn’t threatening you or harming you, will police still arrest them? I 100% agree he needs help, I’m just saying there is a failure of the people around him to take action and that makes it difficult to get him the proper treatment he needs which only makes it worse:/... i really do hope they can do something about it because it no doubt affects his family.

Right and this where in the US now, the convo about civil commitment arises. For the record, I find Kendra's Law hideous, but I also think it is too hard to commit some clearly dangerous people in other states. It is really tough issue to sort.

Are you actually defending stalkers in your analogy?!? Unbelievable!

The only reason Kanye West is not hospitalized is because of the power his celebrity affords him. That is the only reason he’s not in the hospital. He is a very dangerous person as his past action has shown in the public eye. But celebrity culture is full of vapid, disingenuous, shallow people.

The Kardashians will not confront Kanye West because they are all about their own public celebrity image. This is why Prince and other famous celebrities all died of an overdose. Even their own family and friends and fellow celebrities were afraid to say no to them.

Stalkers are completely different animal. Those are mentally ill people who are dangerous even when a restraining order is held against them. And police do track them down and arrest them. Do not even dare compare stalkers to celebrities. What an awful analogy.
