Hi all. I went to that appointment today, where I was referred to by ORS. Turns out the spacey caseworker at ORS gave me only the referral for vocational guiadance type stuff. She forgot to add for additional ones like housing, etc, like she originally said she'd do. She told me nothing in advance about what today's appointment would be, so I assumed that this appointment would be for a little everything. Now the person I talked to today has to talk to my ORS caseworker to get a new plan and goals. Meanwhile, the person I talked to today set up a meeting for me tomorrow with their intake person. This intake person will be the start for me to have (I think, if I understand correctly) a formal psych evaluation, get meds (they seem to push a preference for meds already at this point), be assigned a bed/place to live. I know they have several different types of housing or residential facilties. This whole place is a respected psych hospital/care network. I'm still kind of nervous about all of this. Plus, I've never been on psych meds before, and I'm concerned about related side effects. This is going so slow. I wish I just new what the outcome was after just one appointment, maybe two. Now it seems that I've got several more ahead of me. Psych / Living Update

Hi! (((((((inkblot)))))))

Sorry that your appointment today didn't cover the housing information. I am glad though you have found these people.

Going to the first Psych evaluation and being on psych meds when I first started in '94 had me quite anxious as well. It is common to be nervous as this was all new to me.

I really am happy that they are going to help you out with housing and such. I do know how when I first got residential housing years ago alot of the worries were lifted from me. It almost didn't seem real, my own bed to sleep in, laundry facilitys on hand, and most important was privacy and having shower facilities.

I hope the housing comes quickly for you and will be glad you are off the streets.

Best wishes in your program and housing Psych / Living Update Chris
