I'm having episodes of feeling detached from my body not remembering if the name I'm saying is correct it always has been. I don't know the cause and don't see my psychiatrist til the 27th.

it's happened twice once on mother's day with family another time with my job coach last week. I remember this happening with myself as a jr high student before all diagnosis. it was anxiety driven than.

Starting to wonder if I have some kind of dementia. I'm 48. Any ideas?

I have not, but I'm wondering if it could be menopause related. I think the hormonal changes can affect memory. Have you seen a gynecologist recently?

I had that happen often for several years after I experienced a trauma. First time it happened scared me. Like I was watching myself from above (like a movie) & I couldn't figure out how that person (me) knew how to answer the person who asked me a question. My pdoc at the time said it was called depersonalization

It sounds like depersonalization.

I would talk to the gynecologist too. I still think it could be hormone related.

It sounds kind of like what happens to me when I get manic. I think of it as being stuck. Like I know what name I want to say but it won't come out. It only happens when I'm manic so I consider it a symptom of bipolar 1. I was done with menopause early at age 47 so mine can't be hormones. I have none. 😁

I don't know if this helps or not.
