I already posted this on clyde's corner but seems like it doesn't get much traffic over that way so i was wondering. Is it possible to have borderline personality disorder and be bipolar? and if its possible is it common?

were you given these diagnosis? some people do have a combination of diagnosis but it would be best if you find out from a psychiatrist.

the NIMH site has this to say:
BPD often occurs together with other psychiatric problems, particularly bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and other personality disorders. so i guess yes, it is possible. |

Thanks for the info. No I don't have any diagnosis yet, I haven't seen the T yet. Mostly I was asking because I was just curious and wanted to know if it was possible, not that I'm either. From what I read they have some similarities so I was curious.
