(((KD)))) I'm sorry I'm in on this so late. Yes, the ear tubes will solve that problem. I hope that they do this, as constant ear infections are known to cause deafness, and you are doing well to not ignore them as others often do. One of my grandsons had the same problem, got the tubes, and now has a perfect "ear" as in, he plays piano and at 13 we're all thinking Juliard!

As for the lack of energy while being asthmatic, I can attest to that. The body is using EVERYTHING it has to breathe. Even swallowing can take away from that, plus stops the breathing for a second. With my own issues of this as a child, I had numerous allergies to medications that prolonged the event, but once we had a good mix it only took 3 days to come back out of it.

They have so much more these days, to help with...and I'm glad for that.

Tomi is soooo right that the cool mist humidifer, helps breathe easier immensely!!! The oxygen at hospital also comes through cool, and so it doubly helps.

Breathe Grandma, yourself. Trust the doctors and your gut and children will be just fine. Scared absolutely frozen

(((((((((((((((Kimmy & Johnathon & David)))))))))))))))),

I know how scarry it is with the breathing & the ear infections. Living through the sick & trying to see if there isn't a prevention that can be put into place. The tubes in the ear's have been a great addition to medical science.....what a difference.....kids no longer have to deal with the continual ear infections now like we did as children....that is as long as the parents take the action prescribed by the DR's.

Sadly, many parents ignore it when the ear infection is over....until the next one hits....then they ignore doing anything about it until the next one & the next one....finally permanent damage is done. Responsible parents need to take the action immediately to stop the problem....I know your family are the responsible ones (so I need not say anything).

I understand the bronchitis most of all. I was so allergic to cigarett smoke & my Dad's parents smoked endlessly. When I was around them, I would always come home & deal with bronchitis for weeks & months afterwards. That many years ago, my parents didn't correlate my sick to the cigarett smoke. It should have been obvious, but my parents weren't good at putting information together & would just rather think I was just a sickly child.

Sadly, the high temps & antibiotics that were continually put into my body (along with inherited bad teeth from my Dad). The enamel wasn't formed on my teeth when they were developing. Decay after decay & filling & broken tooth after broken tooth. Back in my day, they didn't have the enamel treatments either, so now, all my teeth are breaking off & have to have them all pulled & implants/dentures....& an embarassing not wanting to even smile because of the missing teeth.

This is just something to point out because is happens & these babies will need to have the dental handled later when the adult teeth come in so they don't have horrible teeth problems as adults.....no one ever thinks of bad teeth being related to being sick as a child. Hopefully, the sickness & bronchitis/asthma issues will be helped & this won't become a chronic problem.

I have only had asthma problems once when a forest fire smoke got to me (& many others in the area). I couldn't breath & I know the fear that caused in me.....there is nothing worse than waking up & not being able to breath...it's like someone is smothering you & you are going to die.....that is truely a scarry feeling & comforting David to keep him calm is the probably the best thing that can be done.....hopefully, Mom has you to help with that as you are doing now. It's hard to find all the time that is required to do something like that when there are so many other things required in life. That is when anxiety attacks the caregiver when they have too many responsibilities & not enough of them to go around. She is blessed to have you as a Mom who cares so much.

Take care of yourself too.....letting a situation scare you into being absolutely frozen isn't good either. I am sure this was just a use of words because you always are able to take the needed actions to work with a problem......

But when we ever get to the point of actually being frozen into the inability to take action, that is when we need to step back & look at how we are looking at our life.

Johnathon & David have my prayers for a recovery without any complications & you have my prayers for the strength to support your daughter & give her the guidance & support she needs so that she can take care of her family the way she needs to, & your daughter has my prayers for the strength & ability to make the right desicions & ability to listen to the Dr's & choose the right treatments & follow through on the needed actions.

HUGZ,
Debbie

poor little guy! I know how scary it is when I cannot breathe well do to my asthma, and when the docs say "oh your lungs are clear" it is very frustrating. Its scary for me as an adult but to have a child go through it is so much more scary.
