i thought io had a damb cough for the last five weeks not that i dont but the cough medicine wasnt touching it and when i went to docs they gave me cough medicine which tasted vile it didnt help either,
so today a week later went bk to docs he did all the normal checks and said did you notice your cough the same time as you started blood preasure meds i just shrugged my shoulders and said i had not even considered it

so they are changing my meds so the cough will go away even though the meds are working and have got my blood preasure down to a good point, the coughing was making me sick and it was getting dangerous driving

Oh, that could be an allergy rather than a side effect (unless the cough is written up as a side effect on the packaging.)

I hope this fixes the problem for you! Goodness! ((((kathryn)))

Cough is a relatively common side effect from ACE Inhibitors. While this side effect is usually not a sign of a serious medical problem, you should report it to your doctor.

I'm glad it was just a "normal" side effect lots of people get. That's relatively easy to fix. I'm sure another blood pressure medicine will work fine too; they're not all that picky like depression meds or anything.

yeah the same thing happened to my aunt. And beta blockers can cause a cough and congestion too, so its fairly common. Sorry to hear you were having trouble.
