I am aware that decresed sexual desire is a common side effect of medications such as anti-depressants. Can anyone share this experience? I am curious if you have been able to increase sexual desire at all without discontinuing your medication. Does anyone have any suggestions in this department? Thanks.

This is my suggestion - wait a week in between having sex and if you are a female make sure your partner gives you a little extra attention before sexual intercourse (longer foreplay) - not to mention having him wear a condom rather he needs to or not - it helps with stimulating the inside of your walls (friction).

I found Wellbutrin INCREASED my sexual desire & response, but each person has an individual reaction to meds. I haven't felt any neg. results from AD's as far as sex, but I definitely had much more response & desire on Wellbutrin.--Suzy

Yeah - Dr. Psisci recommended Wellbutrin one day in one of our Friday Chats for sexual side effects of depression medicines.... I have not yet talked to my GP about getting a Rx for some, maybe it is because I love all the extra attention and time I get from my husband to make sure I am pleased as well - psych meds and sexual side effects.

Airway ! I had some success with SSRI's for depression but had to stop them because of this side effect. They switched me off instantly ! Physically and mentally. To me that is not a 'healthy state of mind'. I only had this problem with SSRI's no other a/d's and it stopped as soon as I stopped taking them.
I do not know of any meds which would counteract this, some people have mentioned Wellbutrin, of course there are things like Viagra. It depends where in the world you are as to what your doctor will prescribe ! I'm in the UK. If anyone can help i'm interested too !
Incidentally, Airway, has your appetite (for food) increased or decreased ?

Wellbutrin was added to my Prozac to counteract sexual side effects. It worked in that area but the anxiety and anger I had was terrible.

Although, I also take Adderall and Wellbutrin acts similar to Adderall so it may be different for you.
