Wendy called me last night, not long after I posted this actually! They haven't closed on their new house yet (yikes!), but they are staying there and they have completely moved out of the other. She was talking about maybe getting over to the public library to be able to get back online, so we may see her soon. She misses her internet sorely!!!!

Thanks! Rapunzel It took so long to get internet set up here! Didn't feel right asking for phone service before we knew we had the house (or even could move in!) and then they took a week to start it. Decided to go with DSL through the phone company because it was a better deal, but the wireless company probably would have had us up and running a lot faster.

We didn't close on the house until Friday last week, after the mortgage company had told us Monday, but they kept changing things, and starting over and dragging their feet. They changed their mind because the appraiser said it was a manufactured home (I had told them that from the beginning!) and the appraiser (from out of town) also wouldn't appraise it high enough for the loan (even though other houses right by here that are smaller and not even on a permanent foundation like this one is have been selling for more). Anyway, it's done now, but the payments will be higher than we hoped because they made us take a 20 year loan instead of 30, and have mortgage insurance. I'll have to get a job, and I hope I can find something decent. I've always had really crumby luck with finding jobs. Most of my employers have lied to me and paid me less than they said they would, including a few that paid me less than minimum wage.

I've been able to check e-mail at the library, but they have time limits and I haven't had enough time to come here. Mostly was trying to get letters of recommendation for jobs. I have three applications in - we'll see what happens.

I have really missed you all!!!

Hi Gloria!

Yeah, I'm in Cedar! Just haven't had phone or internet, but now I do. Thanks for the welcome and the luck. Rapunzel I almost accidently went to visit you last week when I was trying to find my way home, and got on the freeway instead of the access road that I was supposed to, and couldn't find a place to turn around for about 10 miles. WOW! I'm glad you found your way, if you get in the highway it can be a while before you can turn around.

Welcome again, and good luck.
Hey! Register in the Utah State Job Search data base for State positions, there are some good ones coming with the Dept of Workforce Services.

Take care.

Nice to meet you, Jagster. I saw some of your posts already. Welcome!

Gloria, I'll try to find those - I have registered but haven't seen them. The system was down yesterday when I looked though.

The system was down quite a bit, they were having problems with the connections but it is up now.
You have to go to:
jobs.utah.gov

then don't go into the Job Seeker Services, the State jobs are posted under a different link. Here it goes:
Look at the upper left corner, go to DWS Home and it will display a menu that includes State Human Resources Home Page. Access it. Then click un current job openings. You'll have to create an account and take it from there.

good luck.
