I stumbled across this site this morning while doing a search for support groups... decided to get brave and register.. now I'm even surprising myself by posting... I am struggling alot right now with flashbacks and nightmares.
I am a survivor of SA, incest and rape.
I am suffering from severe PTSD according to my therapist and have been newly dx with DID.. feeling very lost, confused and alone in this world...

I hope it is ok to be here
Em

Em, welcome to the family! Of course it's ok to be here. New and kinda nervous Making that first post can be scary, but now that you have, we can welcome you and see what we can do to help. This is really a great group. It has helped me a lot.

Nice to meet you!

Welcome to the forums Mousey. I think you will find a tremendous source of understanding and support here.

Post as much as you want, as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. That is what we are here for.

Hi Mousey!

I can understand your fear about posting. I think all of us have felt that way when we started here.

I welcome you to psychcentral, and hope you will feel safe and supported here.

You may want to check out the dissociative disorders forum, by the way, because there are several people in there with DID. But also feel free to post in any forum that applies to you! Survivors of abuse might be another one, for instance. Or the PTSD forum.

Take care! I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Mousey}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} It's more than just ok for you to be here! New and kinda nervous Welcome to the board! You've taken a great step by getting up incredible courage to post! Good for you! This is a great place for support and understanding. Have you found our "Survivors of Abuse" forum? There is also one for "PTSD." ...Not that it isn't okay to post here, 'cause it is. New and kinda nervous

I'm a survivor of abuse as well as SA and incest so I know what you're going through. Would it help you feel better if I told you I've come out of that dark tunnel on the other side? I sure hope so because I have!

Try to not be nervous. We don't bite and anything you have to tell us, we already have dealt with it or are dealing with it.

One great thing to remember, and I'm sure your T has told you already: It's in the past. Those people can't hurt you anymore! Stay in the present as much as you can when you have a flashback or anxiety or anything else that comes at you.

Again... <font color=green>Welcome! New and kinda nervous</font color=green>
