Thank y'all. We are okay. There's lots of branches and trash blown around, but nothing that doesnt happen in a thurnderstorm. The news said three areas where they had either a tornardo touch down or it was straight line winds. One tall pine i know of fell on two houses. But they were both abandoned, thank goodness. Other than that little bit, wasnt much, but darkness around. Lights came back on about 4hours later.

Thank ya'll. Yes, We are safe. Still rainy and windy but nothing like last night.

I hear most of the country it seems is getting snow. Ya'll be safe in that weather.

Thank goodness you are okay Chalmette.

I hope the town can get back on its feet quickly. I was living in Edmonton, Alberta in 1987 when we (the city) got hit by a big tornado.

It is amazing how cities and communities come together in these situations.

The news said it was straight lined winds. Where the wind hits the ground straight then bows and goes horizontal to the earth. Knocked a tree over. I wonder how long that tree will stay on those houses. lol.

We have been having crazy weather around the country lately....I understand a bit about the winds you were having.....it didn't seem much windy around where I live here in Kentucky....but the other night when I was driving to the bible study in the neighboring town.....I looked at one of the houses on the way, & the tree had been blown through the top story of the house.......what wind? One of the lady's said that she had gone out to take a walk & while she was out, the wind came up & like you said....straight lined.....with such a force. How scarry.

I was in the basement the beginning of Feb with a tornado warning.....they said we had 15 tornadoes show up in the area....don't know how many actually touched down....but there is a lot of roof damage around the area after that storm.

I am glad you are safe.....after going through Katrina....you don't need any more winds.....I'm sure it's even more scarry to deal with after all you have gone through.

Thats alot of tornados.

I had candles lit before the electric went out, and the wind had been kickin up worse for hours. I was looking out the front window and saw a tall pine fall. Just slowly lean and go down.

I had heard that we, St. Bernard had something like 111 confirmed tornados during Katrina. It was just one big tornado here.
