Just fyi. In the US house, the Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act was passed. This is to make health insurance companies offer the same benefits to people with mental health issues as they do for physical health issues. Makes sense--what's the difference between a pancreas or brain? Anyway, it's a step in the right direction.

I've been carefully following this bill (and not just because I'm a Minnesotan who loved Wellstone) and am watching with interest as they prepare to reconcile the house and senate bills. I know we'll lose some of the total coverage provided in the house in order to compromise with the senate but still, this is going to help so many of us.

Score one for the good guys.

Don't forget to write, email or call your senators and congressman or woman and let them know that you support this bill. Let them know that you are watching how they vote and that you support this bill. Stand up for your rights. It's time that mental health patients have rights to equal care.
