How is it decided which icon ends up on a post, such as the event icon? I have found it on some posts that I find off the wall (IMHO) and wonder why it's tagged as an event.

Anybody else notice these?

Not sure what exactly it is you are talking about... event icons? Are you talking about the "stick pin" on the suicide walk post? I think moderators and/or John are the ones that do that according to importance. Dunno... maybe it happens when you start the thread and rate it with as many stars as you can. If not, can't answer your question but it will be interesting to find out what it is or what/who does it and why. Legend notes on posts

Oh, and I see Doc John has an arrow on his "Bugs" thread. Right below it is one that has fire by it. That's a "hot" thread. I think that appears after so many reponses. Those icons are the ones you're talking about??

When you start a new topic, there is an option in a checkbox if you scroll a bit down below the text box to make it an "event" post. There you can set a date for the event. When you do that the event appears on the calendar that you can access at the far right of the links bar on top.

So by checking that box it only means that it is a topic with a date associated with it, for example a post taking about an upcoming party or meeting date or something. I haven't seen a post like this yet but I assume that is what you are talking about. Can you let me know where you've seen it (if you can find it again Legend notes on posts ) I'd like to check it out.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
