Hi Friends,

Our four-footed friends provide us so much unconditional love and care.

Last night before I got in bed, one of my St. Bernards was at the foot of my bed, and I told her I have to go back to school in three weeks. She immediately whined which sounded like, "Oh! Do you have to?"

Please share your cat or dog story as you wish.

My cat, Lou, loves to play tag. He runs up from behind me and sticks his paw out to smack my butt as he passes me. He then hides and waits for me.
Nothing can stop me from smiling when he does this.

Awww EJ that is so sweet!

The other night I was feeling so lost and depressed. My cat who normally sleeps way down at the food of the bed came to me 4 times during the night and laid down right beside me, right up against me. This is as close to cuddling as he's ever been and it was so comforting for me. Right when I needed it Pet Notes

Echoes,,

My littlest dog, Gracie, black and short like a dauchsund, knows just when my feet are hurting me, and licks my toes and feet right where they hurt.

Each of them are such little miracles themselves, plus all of the things they do for us, which show us how much they mean to us.

My girl cat, Emily, is getting trained good! She gets up on the "wrong" arm of the chair, in the way of me getting my coffee/drink or snack as my table is there but I can pat the other arm a couple times and she'll jump across me/the computer to the other one.

She and my husband have a good time at night when he's changing to clean underwear; he tosses his dirty socks, underwear, and teeshirt "onto" her from several feet away, to where she's lying on the bed and she appears to complain bitterly but won't move :-) just buries herself deeper under so only her nose sticks out. After they finish playing that she snuggles up to his side when he sits on the bed and demands he rub her head awhile.

I once had cats. Three of them.

One of them was named "Tassel". He was a gray tabby, had long whiskers and a sleek build. My best friend at the time! He was a dear. We live countryside and are surrounded by fields. In April they are terribly muddy. I was 9 at the time, spending all my time outdoors and I decided to cross the fields.

Well, of course I got stuck and could not move anywhere. My dad's hearing is a bit poor. He used to work at some noisy place before he retired. He couldn't hear my cries for help. The only one who heard me was Tassel. He came to me and kept walking around me and meowing constantly.

Obviously he was distressed by my distress and wanted to help me but didn't know what to do. Eventually my dad found us, and carried me home. We had to leave my boots there, though.

That isn't the point though. It's just that I've never heard of a cat attempting to save their guardian.

An another funny thing was when we had a beagle, also a dear, like all animals, but to me he was especially dear, old cheeky chap. I was probably 13 or 14 (6, 5 years ago) and complained that I was hungry and wanted rye bread.

Maximillian, our beagle, was let out, and when he came back, he was carrying rye bread. Nobody knows, even to this day, where he got it.

Just a few funny stories I recall. Animals are precious =)

Back a few years ago when my grandson was just a couple of years old, he would come to visit me and "pa". We had 2 rotties at the time, brother and sister named KC and Bear.

I remember my grandson trying to pat the dogs and play with them. KC would have none of Larz as he was a typical little kid and she didn't like having her whiskers pulled or ears touched and what not, so she pretty much stayed away from him.

Bear on the other hand was just a blockhead of a rottie and he loved any attention he could get from anybody. At the time, Larz was as tall as Bear's back was. Larz would grab Bear by the collar and try to lead him around. Truth be known, Bear was the one doing the leading LOL. The two of them would almost fly through the house....Bear running and Larz doing his best to keep up with him and would never ever let go of Bears' collar.

The neatest thing about this little relationship between Larz and the 2 dogs was this. Even though KC didn't want anything to do with Larz, if she for one minute thought that Bear was being too rough with they tyke, she would run up to Bear and bite him square in the butt to get him to stop! It was a riot to watch.

Not to worry....no children or animals were hurt during their playtime.....but it was awful funny to watch the dogs put Larz down and put their paws on him to stop him from bugging them too Pet Notes

My sister had a German Shepherd named Rex and a new cat named Sylvester who we called "Sly". The reason why is
Rex started pawing my brother-in-law's leg and yelping a bit
and sure enough Sylvester was on the kitchen counter. The
dog ratted on the cat! We all had a good laugh. -Greg

I have 2 small dogs named Saffy and Molly. The other day I was crying and Saffy jumped up onto my lap and licked the tears off my face and then jumped straight down - she was so matter of fact about it !! They are sitting either side of me on the sofa right now...and they are all I have and mean the world to me.

I have to agree, that our pets gives us unconditional love and are usually a joy to have around. All my other dogs, Trixie, a pug I had for 14 years and Big Bear, the shepherd I had for 12 years were always a joy and comfort...

But, this new lil pup is something else. He is sooo mad that I finally got a 31 inch high gate he can't climb over. This is the happiest I've been since lil pup came into my life. No more chasing him upstairs. wooohooo....... am a happy camper now. Too bad lil pup isn't all that happy. I tell him, "it shall pass" .. smile

My Cat, Mr Mustache is my Angel. He showed up at my house one evening when I really needed a friend.
And he has been with me for almost 5 years. I am so blessed that he chose my my house. I have never known a human being so in tune with my thoughts and feelings as Mustache. Most days Mustache is by my side no matter what I am doing. But on days when I am sad, he will not leave me alone until I let him sit on my lap. He comes to me whenever I call for him and when I say its time to go to sleep he is already nudging his way under my comforter. Mustache always brings a smile to my face and love to my heart
