I've given it some thought and I think I disagree with my diagnosis. My dr says I'm bipolar, but I've read up on it and it does not really fit. Not that I don't have my issues...I do, believe me. But, I do not think this particular diagnosis is accurate and therefore, I am less willing to try anything the psychiartrist suggests.

Have any of you disagreed with your diagnosis? What did you do about it?

I've tried talking to my dr but he remains unconvinced.

This may seem obvious, but I would suggest getting a second opinion from someone else. Each doctor has their own personal opinion, and it may be that he just made a mistake. Another thing I would ask is how well do you think you know yourself? You could actually be bi-polar and be looking past it. Now I don't know you at all so I don't want to be jumping to any conclusions, just some suggestions I thought may help.

With what part of the dx do you disagree? What aspects do you see that you feel he isn't regarding? Sometimes our Ts (and even some psychiatrists lol) see things we don't... and we have to write it out or discuss it with others to get a clearer picture...

medicines today treat alot of different maladies too, is there anything you feel you "have" that the med he suggests would help, regardless of the reason he gives it?

Hard to say...it just seems like some of the things i read about bipolar are not the same things that happen to me. When I read about it I don't think, "yeah, I'm like that."
