Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor has a brother with schizophrenia & went into brain research as a result of that influence. She was recently named one of Time's most influential people in the WORLD. Excellent 20 min. talk--very moving & also on the same page under "related topics" or something is a talk given by a doc who has an amazing story of going through the depths of mental illness to the point of getting a lobotomy to making a full recovery & practicing medicine again. He's never revealed his "shameful" past before.
Go to ted.com then click on speakers then go alphabetically to Taylor & on that page will also have the related talks.--Suzy |

Very interesting. She does give a new perspective, for me.
I have an acquaintance who has been involved in the brain mapping since the beginning. I can't count how many years ago he was talking about teaching medical doctors about their mapping of the brain which he is part of, how they were using a microscopic robot to travel the pathways.
