Well, unlike most of my other crazy dream threads, this post isn't about a specific dream that I've had, but rather, my dreaming trends. I like to think of dreams as your unconious self trying to speak to you, through images and not by well, speaking. By being able to understand my dreams I can I identify the cause.

here are my recent treands, out of dreams I can remember:
Dreams of s. abuse: 2
dreams of rejection of any kind: 1
Dreams of serial killers: AT LEAST 3 recently, but these kind of date back for awhile, and if you count non-recent ones the count is up to about 5.

Now, the serial killing thing is a really recent happening in the fact that it now seems to dominate my dreams. Alot of my previous other dreams had the major theme of some kind of adventure, as well as some kind of sacrifice to go with it.

Now, I've TRIED looking around online, but well, nothing that makes sense comes up for the interpretation for my killer dreams. They can't express any sort of deep hatred towards anybody specific because ALL of the victims in my dream I don't know in real life. Seriously, I made all of the victims up in my head.

Another interpretation that I got from an online dream dictionary...thing, is that it represents trying to kill a certain aspect of your personality. The only problem that I have with this is that everybody being killed represented a virtue of some sorts, innocence, friendship, wisdom, and courage, now why exactly would I want to destroy THAT (especialy in favor of the kilers, who are pretty much all depicted as being negative, like, being, sadistic, psycopathic, or killing out of revenge or truama)? Dream interpretator in the house?

I don't think I can pass it off as random braincells firing if only because the theme reoccurs all the time in between the static-y dreams that I can't remember other then they were really boring and weird.

I agree with you that dreams are an unconscious way of talking to oneself, and imo, the brain trying to reason or file ideas and events.

The only person that can interpret a dream fully accurately is the dreamer.
What another might suggest might not be the accurate interpretation, but might cause you to think of what is.

What you watch on tv, in movies or read in books can greatly affect your dreaming if done right before bedtime, or as in this case, is violent enough. Even if you dwell on your previous dreams right before bed, it can cause a link and another similar dream.

The base point for you, if you aren't feeding it negatively as above, is that yes, you are trying to rid your world of something or someone.

Sometimes people try to "kill off" those who help them when what they really want is assistance to die and get out of the life they are in. We see if often with therapists, where the patient not feeling they want to be helped because they are feeling so poorly, try to offend or threaten the T, or put them down and talk bad about them, in an attempt to rid them from their life so they can have a "reason" to end their own life.

Are you sure of your sense that what you are killing off are the good attributes? If so, then go with that. Is there possibly another category that you may have missed?

Nope everyone in the dream that I remember I see as good people.

My first dream is one were my brother went around the school with a golden triangle shaped object and went around bashing teachers heads in. I begged him to stop, but he just kept on going, the dream ended with the police arriving...and I don't really know the ending after that. This is the first, and last, dream like this.

My second dream that I remember, I remember posting around here, were this omnipotent kind of being, and myself as well as some random dream people were stuck in some kind of board game, yeah, a few people were killed, but what stands out the most in my mind is when a person was completely maimed and ...really wasn't that freaked out about it after awhile (I know I would be if I lost my arms and legs...)

The third dream that I can remember is when the killer had two different personalities, one was the main personality, a guy, and the other one was a girl, and his alter ego pretty much comes out at any time it wants, and kills anybody who gets two close, and killed both a very good friend, and a person who felt sympathetic and tried to give him a hug. But, the main personality guy had no remorse for any of it, until the very end where out of revenge, the dead friend goes and creates a new personality for him to be his greif. Needless to say there was alot of mental breakdown after that as the two of them sort of went back and forth at eachother.

The most recent dream that I remember was when there was a mystery killer. They would kill a person, and then they would kill off the family of anyone who had whitnessed the murder to keep them from talking. The investigators thought they had a lead on this one person, though you never actualy see said person, just their agents. Aparently this suspect had high status in society or something, like a politician or buissnessman. In any case, this changed when they actualy saw the killer when she killed the guy who was helping them out's daughter (who was a little girl by the way) some events happen, and then they realise who the person is, and was actualy one of the cops! She actualy turned herself in, was silent for the entire trial, until when they were going to take her away she said "At least you have something I don't...and innocent family that lives..." before instead of going to jail she was placed in a room with a bomb.

I'm not tring to feed it negatively, but it's just my observations.

Kaika....I totally believe in dreams as speaking to us in messed up terms.

Each of us have several kinds of traits, some we don't speak of and most of them we do. Well in reading this it became very clear to me who the killer in your dreams may be. The killer is you. Don't take that the wrong way but think of it like this...the killer is killing people that you see as good. Could this killer be something about you that is killing close ties to people or is destructive to people in your life??? Have you lost a friend because of a fight or something that you said or did recently? I mean that can easily be turned into the fight or behavior turning into a killer in your dreams.

These are just my interpretations...and I can be right or I can be completely off on this one, but usually I'm pretty good at dream interpretation (silly me can't interpret my own dreams though lol).

Hang in there.

Ok everyone being killed is a positive in your life. Do you feel as though you are left with only negatives?

Well, other then being alot more moody then usual and being alot more isolating then usual. I havn't been getting into fights or anything, but I definately think I've at least partialy lost connection with other people. I talked to my T about it and she said being an introverted person that it's only natural to want to be isolated from time to time. But...I don't know, I feel like without ryme or reason I'm losing my social relationships, my trust, any extroversion that I may have once had, and just taking a few steps backwards to my more-then-troubled preteen years. If that's a part of my personality, then it certainly isn't very pleasant. And if it's actualy something more then my personality then I don't know how to reverse the process considering I don't know the cause.

...yeah, I think that'd answer the question.

The way I feel is that there are negatives (killers) and neutrals (people who aren't really involved enough in the dreams, or just arn't striking me as being very good or very bad) the only exception that I can think of out of the dreams listed is the last one, were the killer was blown up and you were left with realatively good people again (law enforement)
