my oldest was born at 28 weeks, this was 26 years ago when they were not expected to live. they told me she would not survive the first 24 hours. i was very ill, but i refused to stay in bed, i would stand at the nursery window and watch her till i passed out, as soon as i woke up i would be back out at the window. MY dr finally insisted i be allowed to go sit with her and touch her and when i did she started responding. as long as i sat next to her and touched her the monitors never went off and she never stopped breathing. she will be 26 in a few months, thats a whole lot longer than 24 hours.
lost
