I voted today and I felt proud that my little stick through a piece of paper just made a difference. I think that not even 100 years ago women couldn't vote simply because we are women and I feel its a discredit to those who fought so hard for us to have this priviledge. Yes you may not agree with who I voted for President and I might not agree with you but that's what makes this America the chance for us to exercise our freedom.

Yes I have a mental illness and maybe a bit slower in areas than most people but I know what I believe and will vote for someone who believes as close to what I believe. So yes I voted today and proudly voted.

We have early voting here too (AR) so I voted at 11:00 am. I am proud that my voice is being heard. I am a proud American and proud to vote and I would recommend everyone voted, but some just don't believe in it. I have a brother-in-law who will not vote, NEVER registered (he's 44) but yet complains when the person he doesn't like wins. If you want to make a difference, you've gotta get out there and vote. I agree with Jannie. I think it's very important especially that us women get out there and speak our minds. Alot of times the struggles our ancestors went through just to get us the right to vote is forgotten.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Take Care,
Kimberly.

I am not going to vote. I havent for about 16 years now. I see no reason in putting anyone in office I do not trust to do what is best for us. I have come along way in trusting people in my life , but never ever will I trust any politician!None of them deserve that position as far as I am concerned. It will take a miracle for the right person to ever have the privelage of being in that position. This is how I feel, this is what I believe. Thanks for the chance to voice my opinion Dr John.

Sincerly ,
Tryin2bme

I voted by absentee ballot lest this pesky agoraphobia tries/d to keep me from casting my vote.

Tao:

Your vote definitely counted. That's why there was a margin of around 3.5 million in Bush's favor with the popular vote. Don't ever think your vote doesn't count! (((hugs))) to ya so proud you're out of the hospital and hopefully doing better!!!

Take Care,
Kimberly.

I think gloating is uncivil and promotes the extreme partisanship that has torn this country apart in at least the past decade. Even if the media, especially TV, covers the presidential campaign as if it's horse race, politics is not a spectator sport. It's a question of fundamental values. Gloating forecloses on comprise and consensus building. It creates an us-versus-them politcal environment that even plays out here on the forum, which was a safe place for me.

I also wish that this thread had not started. Because I hold my political values so deeply, I would have preferred not to have known the political values of people on the forums.

I acknowledge that others feel differently. That politics is simply something to debate and have a good intellectual workout over. To exchange ideas. I am sure that that is probably the healthier point of view.

I happen to agree with Sky. Think it's time to lock it down IMHO.

Everything is over and done with, nothing's going to change. I think that continue this thread beyond today would just breed resentment. I embrace everyone here, republican, democrat, independent, whatever your party, everyone and cherish them for having their own values and opinions. I think it's great. It would be a boring place is everyone thought the same.

I would hate to see this being an all-out war, especially amongst friends. I think all of you guys are wonderful, even if we all disagree on one thing or another. Doesn't matter, you're all special and I would hate to do or say anything that is going to cause problems between anybody on here.

I hope you're all taking care.

((((Hugs))) to all!
Kimberly.
