I hope we can come together and keep our thoughts with the families of the 4 that have died at this camp. This is just awful.

It's just awful, they were so young. I will be keeping the victims and their families in my thoughts.

This has really got me shaken up. My nephew became an Eagle Scout the week before the storm hit us. And with all the mess we went through after trying to find a place to stay, he decided not to rejoin. If he had, where he is living and if he had rejoined the scouts he would have been at that campout. I just watched a video of two of the boys talking about what happened and the adrenline the have running through them is the adrenline i had running through me for weeks after the storm. I can feel that adrenline now that they have and hope they can get through this with the help of their families. I havent prayed in a very long time, but have said a little prayer for these brave heros that battled the elements to save their fellow scouts.

I heard they had plenty of notification, but there was nowhere for them to take shelter.

Four young lives taken is truly sad.

The weather has been so volatile and unstable this year.

Thank you for posting this sunshine. I posted in Spirituality Forum.

Not all of them saw it, some were up watching the lightening. The Scout Ranch is between two hill tops, and it isn't sure why no siren was heard, but the Scouts that saw the tornado coming down did hit the ranch siren, which did save many lives they feel.

The 4 Scouts who died were crushed by a brick fireplace that caved in when the tornado hit the small lodge they were in... there were others in there with them, but only the 4 died.

Boy Scouts camp year round around the world and compared to the thousands of outings, something rarely occurs of this immensity. This being weather related, well, it's a fact of life.

One scout said it was the Grace of God that only 4 lost their lives. Little Sioux Scout Camp Tornado Fatalities

The USA has had more deaths due to tornadoes than usual (I think at this point 119 now?) Little Sioux Scout Camp Tornado Fatalities

The tornado at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch killed Josh Fennen, 13, Sam Thomsen, 13, and Ben Petrzilka, 14, all of Omaha, Nebraska; and Aaron Eilerts, 14, of Eagle Grove, Iowa, who was a camp staff member.

After all 93 Scouts and staff members were accounted for, stories of heroism began to emerge.

* Weather wreaks havoc across wide area
* KMEG: Witnesses describe tornado strike
* iReport.com: Share, view storm images

"These young men ... literally saved lives during this time period when emergency management could not get to them," Culver said. They "were the real heroes."

"They immediately started helping each other in this time of need [and] set up their own mini-triage unit."

Rob Logsdon, a 15-year-old staff member at the camp, said that although he was injured, he rescued some of his fellow Boy Scouts trapped underneath a collapsed chimney at one of the camp's four bunkhouses
